KNITS
My knitwear design process began with the creation of a main swatch, which I draped on the form, paying attention to how its natural shape could be wrapped around the body. I then knit more pieces to fill in the gaps to create a cohesive garment.
WOVENS
I began by fraying my wovens, allowing me to get to know them a bit better. After playing with them and analysing their weight/drape I drafting patterns to bring them to life.
I have always been interested in looks that are both sporty and elegant. I researched old Italian lace, paying close attention to the yarns and how they formed the artwork. I collaged images of beaches into a simplified lace pattern I created, and added geometric shapes to make it more sporty.
